Frequently Asked Questions About Assisted Living
1. What is Assisted Living?
The Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) defines an Assisted Living residence as a combination of housing, personalized supportive services and health care designed to meet the needs—both scheduled and unscheduled—of those who need help with activities of daily living.
2. What is Short-Term Respite Care?
Short-term respite care is an arrangement to stay in the Assisted Living Community for 30 days or less. It is a service for families who care for a loved one at home and need assistance when they are absent due to vacation, an illness, etc. The respite resident is entitled to all of the services and amenities of a full-time resident. Respite stays can occur as often as needed.
3. Can you accommodate special diets?
We can accommodate most special diets, including no added sugar, no added salt, ground, and pureed. Ask the executive director about customized diets when you visit our community.
4. Can I bring my own furniture?
We encourage residents to bring their furniture, art work, favorite books and family photographs to give their suite the look and feel of home.
5. Can my family visit me and can I go out with them?
We encourage family members to visit often, and residents can go on daytrips and for overnight stays as they choose. We ask that visitors sign in and out and that residents sign out for overnight trips.
6. Will my needs be met around the clock?
Our staff is on duty 24 hours per day and is available to provide care and services at all times.
7. What transportation is provided?
The community bus provides transportation to local physician appointments on certain days of the week. On the other days, the bus is used for outings and shopping trips.

Yes. The registered nurse is the Director of Resident Care. He/she works a regular schedule and is on call at all times.
